Why was OFF.line born?
Every once in a while I went to the mountains. And almost every time I came back with the same thought:
Why can't I feel the same way in everyday life?
It was not about being without a phone. It was more that suddenly there were people, nature and moments around me that were simply more interesting than a screen.
Gradually I realised that maybe we don't need another guide on how to be less online. Maybe we just need more reasons to put the phone down for a while.
More trips, more people around us, more time outside and more things that simply make us forget about the phone for a moment.
And that is exactly what OFF.line came out of.
Who is behind OFF.line?
Ever since I was a kid I have loved everything that brings people together.
Community events, shared experiences, coming up with things for other people and creating moments everyone still talks about long afterwards.
In 2021 I discovered a love for the mountains — and it has not let go of me since. 😄 Ever since, I look for every possible excuse to get outside, find a new place or push my limits a little further.
I am a creative, I love spontaneous ideas and I usually say “yes, we’ll do it” first and only then start working out how exactly. OFF.line grew out of that combination.
And because as a little girl I always dreamed of making videos, I started documenting our trips, our travels and this slightly chaotic life of ours on YouTube too. So I am actually ticking off an old dream. :)
When I am not planning the next hike, I am probably out running, in the mountains, or thinking about where we go next.
In 2025 I was lucky enough to meet my greatest companion — Patrik. 🤍
In a lot of ways he is my exact opposite. I usually turn up with an idea and a lot of enthusiasm, Patrik starts working out whether and how it can actually be done. 😄 Luckily he got used to my slightly chaotic style pretty quickly and these days not much throws him off.
He helps me get things over the line around OFF.line, handles a lot of the technical and practical detail, and is part of practically every hike and most of our adventures.
And above all he is the person I can say “what if we…?” to, and we usually end up somewhere in the mountains.
And we are not entirely on our own.
Anička has been around OFF.line practically from the start. She is my long-time friend, someone I talk a lot of ideas through with, and when we run bigger events or retreats, she is often the reason everyone there eats well. 😄
She is not part of the day-to-day running of the project, but she is one of the people without whom OFF.line would not be quite the same.
